How to create a website for your business in Cameroon (no coding needed)

5 October 2026 · Offcl team

Ask any business owner in Douala, Yaoundé or Bamenda whether they need a website and most will say yes — followed immediately by "but it's too expensive" or "I don't know how". For a long time they were right. Getting a website meant finding a developer, paying hundreds of thousands of francs upfront, and waiting weeks. That era is over.

What you actually need to get online

Strip away the jargon and a business website is just three things: an address people can remember, a page that shows what you do, and a way for customers to reach you. Everything else — animations, fancy frameworks — is decoration. If those three pieces are solid, your website already does its job.

In Cameroon you have roughly three ways to get there:

  • A web agency or freelance developer: 150,000 to 500,000+ XAF for a basic site, plus hosting and maintenance fees, and weeks of back-and-forth. Good for big companies; heavy for a boutique or a salon.
  • A foreign DIY builder (Wix, Shopify and friends): powerful but priced in dollars, needs a bank card, mostly English-only, and not designed around WhatsApp and Mobile Money.
  • Offcl: built here for how business actually works — a site at yourname.offcl.co in under 5 minutes, priced in francs, paid by MTN MoMo or Orange Money, with orders landing straight on WhatsApp.

Creating your site step by step

With Offcl the whole process fits in a phone screen:

  • Tell us your business name, what you do and your WhatsApp number — three questions, no forms with twenty fields.
  • Pick a design made for your profession. Restaurants get menu sections, salons get bookings, shops get a product catalogue — the right sections are pre-selected for you.
  • Your site goes live instantly at yourname.offcl.co. Share the link on your WhatsApp status, your Facebook page, your business card.

What to put on your site first

You don't need pages of text. The essentials are: what you do in one sentence, your products or services with real prices, a WhatsApp order button, your location and opening hours, and two or three genuine photos. That alone puts you ahead of most competitors who only have a Facebook page.

The free trial lasts 7 days, costs nothing and needs no card. The real risk isn't trying a website — it's staying invisible while your customers search online.
